OVERVIEW


NetSpeed Analyzer ("we", "our", or "the app") is a network speed testing and WiFi

analysis tool. This privacy policy explains how we handle your data when you use

our application.



DATA COLLECTION


What we DO NOT collect:


- NetSpeed Analyzer does NOT collect, store, or transmit any personal data to

  external servers.


- We do NOT collect your name, email, phone number, or any personally

  identifiable information.


- We do NOT track your browsing activity or online behavior.


- We do NOT sell or share your data with third parties.


- We do NOT use analytics SDKs or tracking cookies.


- We do NOT create user profiles or behavioral analyses.



What the app accesses (locally on your device):


The app requires certain permissions to function:


ACCESS_WIFI_STATE:

  Purpose: Read connected WiFi network name, signal strength, and connection

  status.

  Data Used: SSID, BSSID, signal dBm. Used only on-device to display in UI.


ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE:

  Purpose: Check internet connectivity before running speed tests.

  Data Used: Connection type (WiFi/mobile). Used only on-device.


ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION / ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION:

  Purpose: Required by Android 10+ to access WiFi SSID and BSSID information.

  Location is NOT stored, tracked, or transmitted. Only used to satisfy

  Android's OS-level requirement.


NEARBY_WIFI_DEVICES:

  Purpose: Android 12+ replacement for location when reading WiFi network

  details. Device proximity is used solely to enumerate nearby WiFi network

  names. Not stored or transmitted.



SPEED TEST DATA


When you run a speed test:


- The app downloads/uploads data from/to Cloudflare's speed test servers

  (speed.cloudflare.com) or Google's edge servers to measure your internet

  speed.


- Your public IP address is resolved via ip-api.com or ipinfo.io to display

  your ISP name and approximate geolocation (city/country level).


- These lookups are performed only at your request when viewing the Network

  Info screen.


- Results are stored locally on your device and can be deleted at any time.



DATA STORAGE


All speed test history is stored locally on your device using SharedPreferences.

No data is uploaded to any cloud server. You can clear all stored history at

any time from the History screen.



THIRD-PARTY SERVICES


The app makes direct HTTP connections to:


- Cloudflare (speed.cloudflare.com) - for speed testing

- ip-api.com / ipinfo.io - for ISP name and public IP geolocation

- Google DNS (dns.google) - for latency measurement


These services have their own privacy policies. We do not send them any

identifying information beyond what is inherent in an HTTP request (your IP

address).



CHILDREN'S PRIVACY


NetSpeed Analyzer does not knowingly collect any personal information from

children under the age of 13.



CHANGES TO THIS POLICY


We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be

reflected in the app with an updated "Last updated" date.
